USAC SOUTHWEST SPRINT CAR “FREEDOM TOUR” STARTS WEDNESDAY

PEORIA, AZ – AUGUST 19, 2013… This Wednesday, August 21st, the USAC Southwest Sprint Car Series will kick off their inaugural four-race “Freedom Tour” in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Including stops in Wichita and Dodge City, Kansas, the non-point $2,500-to-win features are some of the most anticipated dates on the schedule.

Located on the historic Route 66, Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Oklahoma has been entertaining fans since 1986. The “Wide Open Wednesday” showcase at the fast quarter-mile clay oval will also feature the National Open Wheel (NOW) 600 Restrictor and Non-Wing Micro Sprints. Adult tickets are $20, Kids tickets (14-10) are $10, and Children (Under 10) are FREE. Pit Passes are $30 and the Front Gates will open at 4:30pm, with Racing at 8:00pm. The following night, August 22nd, the traditional sprint cars will travel to C. Ray Hall’s 81 Speedway in Wichita, Kansas. With Mod Lites sharing the action packed card at the 3/8-mile clay oval, Adult tickets are $15 with Racing scheduled at 7:30pm. Promoted by former racer Tommie Estes Jr., Dodge City Raceway Park in southwest Kansas will showcase two nights of action. Starting August 23rd, the Friday and Saturday events at the large 3/8-mile facility will close out the “Freedom Tour.” IMCA Stock Cars and Thunder Cars will join the Friday night card as IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sport Modifieds will support the Saturday show. Racing will begin at 7:30pm each night and Adult Tickets are $12 on Friday and $15 on Saturday. Children 11 & under are FREE when accompanied by an adult. With eight wins on the year, R.J. Johnson leads the point chase over a talented roster of drivers. As this writing goes to press, the second generation driver is looking for a “Freedom Tour” ride. “Chargin” Charles Davis Jr. has four victories and is second in the championship points. “The Magic Man” Mike Martin won at Arizona Speedway on April 13th and sits third in the standings. Bryan Clauson, Josh Pelkey, and “The Real Deal” Rick Ziehl have also claimed main event wins.
