Tulsa Oklahoma (September 24, 2013) – One can say it was bound to happen sometime. There are those who would believe it just wouldn’t happen and then  there are several race fans who think what is very likely to happen this Saturday night at the West Siloam Speedway in Colcord Oklahoma is just damn cool. By all accounts, that driven, determined and petite young lady from Lindsay Oklahoma, Miss Harli White, will make news in sprint car history by becoming the first woman in Oil Capital Racing Series history to win the sprint car championship.

Tabbed as the “Lindsay Flash’, White goes into Saturday night’s contest at West Siloam with a 124 point advantage over Sapulpa Oklahoma’s Danny Smith. The maximum number of championship points earned in a single event is 95. The maximum number of championship points that Smith can gain on White (providing each start the feature) is 65.  With just the October 5th race remaining on the OCRS schedule at the Outlaw Motorsports Park left after the WSS race, White will lock up the title if she can leave WSS with a 96 point margin.

Not only can White become the first woman in OCRS history to win a sprint car championship, White would also become the first woman to earn a series title in the region. In an interview earlier in the season, White makes it clear where she wants to go in the dirt track world and what the OCRS championship would mean to her: “Winning the OCRS title would mean a lot because it is something I will have on my resume that will show people what we can do,” said White. “There are some good drivers in the OCRS series and it takes a lot to beat some of these drivers. My goal is to get to the World of Outlaws. Getting to race with the Outlaws would be awesome and I will do my best to make it there.”

While White is locked onto her task at hand, there are a slew of others who want to finish the season on a high note. Another race being contested within the OCRS ranks is the Brodix / PM Pro Rookie of the Year honor. Coweta’s Kade Morton, who sits in third place in the points standings and won at the Thunderbird Speedway back in April, currently holds an 80 point advantage over Locust Grove’s Alex DeCamp who is also a winner in his rookie season having scored a surprising victory at the Tri-State Speedway in June. DeCamp holds the fifth spot in on the point’s chart. Sandwiched between these two young lions is veteran Johnny ‘Hotrod’ Kent. Hotrod is the top performer who is still seeking a 2013 A-Feature victory. As he did last season, Hotrod has performed stronger in the latter stages of the season and it is viable he could find his way to victory lane. Kyle Clark is the next driver in points (sixth) that looks to kick in the door for that first feature win of the season.

An OCRS record 13 different drivers have found their way to victory lane in 2013 with Smith the only other driver besides White to win two or more main events. Brian “B-Mac’ McClelland of Tulsa has announced his intentions of competing this week. B-Mac scored a win at WSS on June 8th when OCRS conducted a wingless event. This Saturday will see the sprint car warriors with their wings affixed.

It’s potential history in the making this Saturday night and the staffs of the West Siloam Speedway and the OCRS sprint car series would like to see everyone out to witness a once in a lifetime happening and to take in some thrilling dirt track sprint car action as produced by the OCRS series.
