URSS to Invade Wakeeney Speedway Sunday

URSS United Rebel Sprint Series Top Story

From URSS

The United Rebel Sprint Series will make the first of two stops this year at the Wakeeney Speedway in Wakeeney Kansas. After the first three races this season the Rebels have produced three different winners so far and look forward to have a great field of cars on hand this Sunday night.urss

The one and only visit by the Rebels last year at the 3/8 mile oval found Quinter KS veteran, C.J. Johnson setting in victory lane when the checkers waved. Johnson will be making his first start with the URSS this season in Wakeeney and will be a force to be reckoned with. He will be met with a field of tough competition as Colorado drivers, Zac Taylor who won opening night in Dodge City and last weeks winner in McCook, NE, Jake Bubak, will be making the tow to Kansas for the weekend.

Other strong contenders to make things tough on everyone will be Wakeeney’s 2012 winner Lucas Cranston from Plains KS, Dodge City’s Brain Herbert, Zach Blurton from Great Bend, Liberal’s Steven Richardson, the “Hill City Hotshoe” Jeff Radcliffe will also be making his first appearance and URSS founder Rick Salem, from Oberlin, will pilot the Sgt. Christopher Ryan Kruse 911 tribute car again this weekend.

Salem said he is expecting 25-30 cars and this will be the first race the point system will be used for lining up the feature. Look for a lot of action, passing and 3 and four wide racing, something the Rebels are well known for.

Start time for the racing on Sunday is 6:30pm. If you can’t attend be sure to tune in and listen to Mike Wilson call all the action live on racinboys.com
