ROCHESTER, NY, (August 4, 2014)- Yates County Speedway, the formerly-named Black Rock Speedway, has hosted by far the most Patriot Sprint Tour events in series history; but in 2014, the Patriot Sprint Tour regulars will have just one opportunity to open up their deep reservoir of experience at the 4/10-mile oval, and that time has come.

This Friday, August 8, the Patriot Sprint Tour America series makes their lone trip of the season to the Yates County Speedway.  Over the last decade, the series has made 36 trips to Dundee, including 12 events in the last four seasons.

Since 2004, the Patriots have sanctioned an event on the second weekend in August at YCS, with that sprint show going back even further.  The winners of this show are a “who’s who” of area sprint car racing and beyond, including four PST Champions, a URC Champion and a Sprint Cup Champion. This year, the race will pay $2,000 to win and is being billed as the Einstein Construction Group Showcase.  Einstein Construction Group should be well-represented with Tommy Wickham and Shawn Donath expected to contend.

Jared Zimbardi, the defending PST Champion and current series point leader of Bradford, PA, dominated the only other sprint show at the 4/10-mile oval last month and is hoping to get back on track after a tire oversight at Ransomville took away what would have been his fifth Patriot win of his season.

Steve Collins also ran well in the event last month, but more importantly, the driver currently second in the PST America standings simply put wants redemption from last year’s race, where he led until the final two laps, when Robbie Stillwaggon made contact with the “Flying Physician”, sending the No. 67 in to a spin.  The two made contact in the same spot on the track once again last month and should be ready to duke it out again on Friday as Stillwaggon looks to repeat.

Scott Kreutter ended up with a runner-up finish last August and despite always faring well in Yates County, has never won at YCS.  He leads a group of series regulars looking to break through including Brad Knab, Dave and Scott Just, Derek Jonathan, Dane Lorenc, Tyler Graves and Parker Evans.

Bryan Howland, Chuck Hebing, Justin Barger and George Suprick are among the past YCS winners that could be in the mix, along with Stephen Hutchinson Jr., Clint Ide, Paul Habeck, Steve Glover, Don Adamczyk, Jared Fink, Joey Biasi, Darryl Ruggles and Alysha Ruggles.

Racing action will kick off early at 7:00 P.M. on Friday.  For more information, visit www.PatriotSprintTour.com.
