Port Royal, PA — (April 20, 2015) — Port Royal Speedway will present the twelfth running of the prestigious Bob Weikert Memorial for sprint cars, sanctioned by the All Star Circuit of Champions Sprints, this Saturday, April 25 at 7 pm.

Racing action also includes the Gray’s Auto & Towing econo late models and the Len Krautheim Auto Sales xtreme stocks.

Gates for the big event will open at 4 pm.

Nearly $50,000 in total is on the line for the sprint car teams including $15,000 to win the 40-lap feature event to go along with $100 to lead a lap, $100 to win heats and the dash, $300 to set fast time and a $200 hard charger award.

The first 450 fans entering the main grandstand will receive either a FREE Weikert’s Livestock hat or can cooler.

Also during the night 20 five-pound packs of ground beef will be given away off of adult general admission wrist bands. In addition, five girls and five boys bicycles will be given away to registered youth ages 12 and under.

World-renowned sprint car veteran Jack Hewitt of Troy, Ohio, will be on hand at the track for the event with his “Dewitt With Hewitt” two-seat sprint car driving experience.

A Hall of Fame inductee and USAC Silver Crown Champion, Hewitt will be making a rare appearance in Pennsylvania for the race with his ride-along sprinter and will be offering three chances for fans to take a ride with him around the historic oval.

Raffle tickets for a chance at one of the rides will be offered for just $1 each or six for $5 with proceeds going to benefit the Central Pennsylvania chapter of the National Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Legenday sprint car owner Bob Weikert succumbed to a long battle with Leukemia in 2003.

Last year Greg Hodnett took home a total of $13,400 for the win in the Weikert Memorial after dueling with All Star kingpin Dale Blaney for the lead during the opening stages.

Adult general admission for the show is set at just $25 with students ages 12 – 18 priced at just $7.
