As the 2015 World of Outlaws season comes to a close this weekend in Charlotte, NC, Roth Motorsports has been busy getting prepared for 2016 as the team will return to the World Of Outlaws Tour with Brownsburg, IN driver, Joey Saldana behind the wheel.

“I am extremely lucky, and thankful, that Dennis and Teresa Roth have given me the opportunity to drive their car on the World of Outlaws tour in 2016,” Joey Saldana said. “They gave me a chance back in 1996 and in 2001, and to come back and drive for them in 2016 is really special. With this door opening, I really have to thank Dan and Ruth Motter for everything they did for my family over the last three seasons. With that team we had some great supporters, and I really appreciate all the support Doug Harris of HEMsaw, and Lonnie Olson with Beltline Body Shop provided. ”

Joey Saldana has had a storied career with the World of Outlaws including winning the 1996 Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year, the famed Kings Royal on two separate occasions in 2002 and 2006, the World of Outlaws portion of the Four Crown Nationals on four occasions, as well as two Gold Cup Race of Champions triumphs in 2007 and 2009.

“Teaming up with Roth Motorsports, I know we will be in contention to win some big races,” Saldana added. “Roth Motorsports has a great program in place, and I am looking forward to being a part of it in 2016.”

Some other marquee wins over the course of Saldana’s storied career include an Iron Man 55 win, a Brad Doty Classic Win, and a win at the Eagle Nationals.

Currently, “The Brownsburg Bullet” sits sixth on the World of Outlaws All-Time Wins list with 93 triumphs (not including preliminary night wins), and will look to hit the century mark in the coming season.

“The World of Outlaws tour is tough, but I think we will be a strong team, and I am hoping to put us in the hunt on a nightly basis,” Saldana added.

“We are all very excited to have Joey Saldana with us in 2016,” Dennis Roth said. “Joey was the first driver I ever had on the World of Outlaw tour in 1996 and we are glad to have him back in 2016. It should be an exciting season and we are all looking forward to it.”

Making his return to the seat of the famed Roth Motorsports entry in 2016 after a couple of stints early in his career, Saldana still has some things he would like to accomplish including winning a World of Outlaws Championship, as well as a Knoxville Nationals.

“Dennis and Teresa Roth have the desire to win, and I share that desire with them,” Saldana added. “With the equipment Roth Motorsports provides, I am hopeful we will be in the hunt on a regular basis.”

Though with the team still being finalized, Saldana and Roth Motorsports will make their debut during the 2nd Annual Winter Heat Showdown in Yuma, AZ during the first week of action before kicking off their World of Outlaws campaign during the DIRTCar Nationals at the Volusia Speedway Park in February, an event that Saldana has won on three occasions.

“This is an exciting thing for me and my family, and I am excited to get to the shop, and get ready for the Winter Heat Showdown in January.”

The Roth Motorsports team would like to thank Roth Enterprises, HR Livestock Transportation, 3H Cattle, Mobil1, FK Rod Ends, Weld Wheels, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, Kent Performance, Kaeding Performance, and Astro Titanium for their support in 2015.
