MARION, Ark. (Dec. 14, 2015) – Derek Hagar scored his third consecutive double-digit win season in 2015.

Hagar recorded 12 feature victories, which ranks second for most triumphs in a year, and he garnered 30 top-five finishes in 47 races.

“It went really good,” he said. “We had ups and downs all year and had a lot of rainouts. To be able to click off 12 wins with everything going on with my business and the weather not being nice to us, it showed how strong we were.”

Hagar powered to nine wins in his winged sprint car, including the Hooker Hood Classic at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Ark., on June 6 when he lapped up to third place.

“The Hooker Hood Classic win stands out,” he said. “He has a lot of history in Memphis and he’s well known. To go out and win that deal and to be pretty dominant, it was just special for us. We had a really good car and I had a throw-back suit on. To win with that suit on made it that much more special.”

Additionally, Hagar captured a trio of 410ci nonwing sprint car victories driving for Jack Hockett and David Korte, including a sweep of the 5th annual Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo., on Sept. 25-26.

“We had a lot of big shoes to fill getting in the Hockett car,” he said. “To go out and win three races and sweep the weekend at the Hockett/McMillin Memorial against some great drivers, that was a pretty big weekend for us.”

Hagar ended the season by earning podium finishes in 15 of his final 21 races, including seven trips to the Winner’s Circle.

“It was a great year and I can’t thank my fans, family and sponsors enough for their support,” he said. “I also want to give a special thanks to the various car owners for the opportunities. I can’t wait to get the 2016 season underway.”
