Placerville, CA — (December 21, 2015) — After a successful inaugural event in 2015, World of Outlaw sprint car driver and local resident Brad Sweet is bringing the greatest show on dirt back to Placerville Speedway Wednesday night March 23rd. Brad Sweet’s Placerville Showdown presented by Riebes Auto Parts will feature the greatest sprint car drivers in the world attacking one of the fastest quarter-mile dirt tracks in America. Sweet has “sweetened the pot” by adding extra money into the overall purse, scheduling the USAC Western States Midgets as the companion division and securing some celebrity drivers who will be attending this mid-week race.

“I wanted to make sure that we continue to build this event and give the fans a better show,” said Sweet. “We’ve bumped the World of Outlaw main event winner from $6,000 (last year’s winner) to $10,000 and added the USAC western midgets to the program.” However, one of the most important things involved in bringing the World of Outlaws back to Placerville Speedway is his relationship with local parts company Riebes Auto Parts. “Bringing Riebes Auto Parts back as the presenting sponsor means a lot to me. This is a local company that is sponsoring a local race and I appreciate their belief in me and this event.”

The World of Outlaw’s will be led by seven-time champion Donny Schatz of Fargo, North Dakota. Schatz won 31 feature events in 2015 including the Wednesday night Placerville event. In 2016, Schatz will continue to drive the Tony Stewart Racing Bad Boy Buggies #15 and strive for his eighth World of Outlaws championship. Bixby, OK driver Shane Stewart will represent Larson/Marks racing again in 2016. Stewart finished second in the World of Outlaw points and has numerous starts at Placerville Speedway. Sweet will be at the helm of his Kasey Kahne Racing Ollie’s Bargain Outlet #49 and be joined by teammate Daryn Pitman in the Great Clips #9. Brownsburg, IN driver Joey Saldana is teamed up with California car owner Dennis Roth and is set to drive the familiar and popular Beef Packers #83. Elk Grove, CA native Paul McMahan has moved into the Destiny Motorsports #7 and is familiar as any driver when it comes to getting around the Placerville Speedway. Local sprint car stars expected to battle the World of Outlaws include Paradise’s Kyle Hirst, Chico’s Jonathan Allard and Auburn’s Andy Forsberg. Over 30 sprint car drivers are expected to compete during this special one night only showing of the World of Outlaws and USAC Western States Midgets.
