“Pennsylvania Midget Week” has expanded to four nights in 2016 with the addition of a Sunday, August 14, race at Susquehanna Speedway in Newberrytown.

The four race swing already includes Monday and Wednesday night races at Path Valley Speedway Park in Spring Run and Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown respectively and Tuesday night’s venue remains to be finalized.

Rico Abreu swept both Pennsylvania races last season, winning races at Path Valley and Lincoln. This year’s swing is part of an expanded 24-race schedule which spans seven states, beginning in Illinois in March and ending in California in November.

“The enthusiastic Pennsylvania fans have enabled us to create a true “Midget Week” in the Keystone State,” says USAC National Cordinator Jason McCord. “We are excited about the addition of Susquehanna and look forward to announcing the fourth race in the near future.”

USAC Midget Series Director Levi Jones adds: “the intense competition generated in 2015 which produced a history-making finish for the National Championship has carried over into the new year. We expect one of the fiercest battles for the championship in recent years and the Pennsylvania swing will certainly be pivotal in determining this year’s champ.”
