In the series first and only race to date at the high-banked third-mile bullring back in 1985, three-time series champion Sammy Swindell was victorious over fellow Hall of Famer, 20-time series titlist, Steve Kinser. The World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series competed at Brown County Speedway in 2008 as part of their “Wild West Tour.”

The 2016 season kicked off for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series last month in Florida and continues this month in California. Brad Sweet, driving for Kasey Kahne Racing, has won three of the first nine races this season and is the current point leader. Sweet is the only driver that has finished in the top-five in each of the first nine races of 2016.

Donny Schatz, the seven-time and defending series champion, has a pair of wins and is currently fifth in points. Shane Stewart, who is second in points, has a win, as does Joey Saldana, third in points and Daryn Pittman, fourth in points. David Gravel, who is just outside of the top-five in the standings, also has a win.

Battling the aforementioned six drivers in 2016 is a talented group of full-time competitors, including veteran drivers Paul McMahan and Jason Sides, up-and-coming young drivers, Logan Schuchart and Jacob Allen, sophomore driver Jason Johnson and rookie contender Greg Wilson from Ohio.
