Tulsa Okla. (June 14, 2016) – Following a week off the Ameri-Flex / OCRS sprint car series returns to action this weekend with two nights of racing.

On Friday June 17, the Ameri-Flex / OCRS sprinters travel to the ‘Show Me State’ of Missouri to visit the Monett Speedway. Rain washed out the last attempt to race there in 2015, but in 2014 Michael Bookout entertained the Missouri race fans on the way to his first OCRS career victory.

After Monett the Ameri-Flex / OCRS sprinters travel to Kansas for the first of three visits to Kerry Gorby’s Caney Valley Speedway in Caney, Kansas on Saturday June 18.

Last season three different winners emerged from the battles on the fast quarter-mile oval. Four-time OCRS champion Jamie Passmore returned to victory lane with a win on May 2nd. Shane Sellers won on July 4th and Alex DeCamp won the final Caney race of 2015 on September 5th.

The double header weekend will be important to those watching the point standings. Zach Chappell leads defending champion Robert Sellers by only 25 points after Sellers picked up his first win of the season two weeks ago at Lawton Speedway.

Third place Whit Gastineau flipped his sprinter in the main event at Lawton and did not finish the race, but is holding down third in the standings. All three have one feature win to their credit.

Three-time winner Sheldon Barksdale is sitting in fourth and Cameron Hagin rounds out the top five. Hagin has yet to win his first feature but is on the verge of picking up that first win. Three weeks ago at Longdale Hagin led 24 of 25 laps losing the race in the final turn. Hagin has three top ten finishes to his credit so far this season.
