After a weekend off for the IMCA RaceSaver Nationals the United Rebel Sprint Series is back in action this weekend as the National Points chase visits Longdale Speedway and the Colorado region sees action at ColoradoMotorSportsPark. With the season winding down gaining points for those closing in on titles are imperative.

The Sprint Series of Oklahoma and the URSS will be co-sanctioning a Myers Engine Service event in Longdale Oklahoma at the 3/8’s mile Longdale Speedway. With only two races left in the chase for the title Luke Cranston holds a 46 point lead over second place Zach Blurton. Both have claimed two wins each in National Events this season. The battle for spots three through five is the one to watch with a total of eight points separate those positions. PlainvilleKansas’s Jed Werner holds a slim two point lead over McCook Nebraska’s Darren Berry with Dodge CityKansas’s Brian Herbert eight points back. The next two races will be critical to the driver’s finishing positions in 2016.

Drivers running the IMCA Racesaver 305-ci motors have a chance to obtain national as well as regional points with the series and the growth of that class has exploded over the past two years. Sprint Series of Texas, SSO, Sprint Series of Nebraska have all burst on to the scene while the URSS has been in existence for several years. Current Sprint Series of Oklahoma Point Standings: 1) Andy Shouse  2) Joe Wood, Jr., 3) Brandon Long 4) Shayla Waddell , 5) Chris Kelly

The combined SSO/URSS event at Longdale Speedway will pay $1000 to win with $250 to start and will be the last sprint event slated for the track in 2016. Gates open at 5:00 PM with race time slated for a 7:00 PM start time. Grandstand admission tickets are just $15 for adults, $12 for all seniors and military while ages 12 and under will be admitted free.

The URSS Colorado region will be in action once again at ColoradoMotorSportsPark in Byers Colorado as well Saturday night. With only two more races to be held the points picked up over the next events will determine who will grace the stage at the 2016 URSS Banquet. The 3/8’s mile oval has been racy this season and the points standings reflect that. Austin Mclean holds down the number one spot over Zac Blurton in the runner up spot. Third belongs to Justin Medlock who is twenty two points back, with Scott Cochran, Scott Rhoades, Coby Pearce, Brian Hardman, Luke Lucero, Clint Shubert and Nic Sutton all within ninety four points of each from positions three through ten. Look for Saturdays race to tighten up the points standings.
