URSS 2016 Colorado Region Championship Up for Grabs at CMSP

The final race of the 2016 United Rebel Sprint Series at Colorado Motorsports Park will determine the 2016 Colorado Champion this Saturday Night. Current points leader and winner of the last race at CMSP, Zach Blurton leads the points by a slim four point margin over 2015 National Rookie of the Year Austin Mclean. Justin Medlock is twenty points behind Blurton holding down the third spot.

Current Colorado and National Rookie of the Year points leader Scott Rhoades holds a twenty two point lead over fifth place Luke Lucero. Positions sixth through eighth are separated by twelve points. “The Ageless Wonder” Mark Walinder holds the sixth spot with Todd Plemons ten points behind in seventh and teammate Scott Cochran who is two points back of Plemons.

Positions nine through twelve are up for grabs as well as four drivers are thirty eight points apart. Coby Pearce holds the ninth spot with Butch Hardman only four points behind him in tenth. Eleventh place Clint Shubert is fourteen points behind Hardman with Nic Sutton in twelfth, twenty points back.

Any miscues this weekend will be devastating to all of the top twelve drivers; a DNF could cost any of the drivers multiple positions in the final standings. Saturday Night is Fan Appreciation Night at CMSP with the URSS sprint Cars headlining the nights racing. Joining them will be the 270 Micro Sprints, Dwarf Cars, Modifieds, Sport Mods, Street Stocks, Econos and Extreme Trucks. Ticket prices are $15 for Adults – $8 ages 12 and under.
