From Lance Jennings

LAS VEGAS (March 10, 2017) – After engine problems forced a switch to a backup car, Ryan Bernal (Hollister, California) started twenty-second and won Friday’s 25-lap “FVP Outlaw Showdown” at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Piloting Mike Phulps’ #56 Metal Works / Keizer Wheels ART, Bernal took the lead from “The Macho Man” Brady Bacon on lap 21 and sailed to his second $3,000 Sands Chevrolet USAC SouthWest / West Coast Sprint Car win of 2017. Bacon, Brody Roa, Jace Vander Weerd, and Stevie Sussex chased Bernal to the finish line.

For the second night in a row, Landon Cling earned the Woodland Auto Display Fast Time honors, besting the 33 car roster. “The People’s Champion” Dave Darland, Roa, Vander Weerd, and Bernal won the 8-lap heat races. Jeff Sibley topped the 12-lap semi-main.
