CARDEY GETS MAJOR RIDE FOR 43RD ANNUAL WESTERN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS!

From Scott Daloisio

(SEPTEMBER 16, 2010, RIVERSIDE, CA) USAC/CRA racing star David Cardey has picked up a major ride for the November 18th, 19th and 20th 43rd Annual Kronik Energy Drink Western World Championships at USA Raceway in Tucson, Arizona. The Riverside, California resident will be behind the wheel of one of Jim Massey’s famous bright orange Sprint Cars for the prestigious event.

Cardey will be a teammate to ASCS Canyon Region point leader Charles Davis Jr. in the Non Wing portion of the three-day racing extravaganza. Thus far in 2010, Cardey has one appearance in the ASCS Series when he finished second in the main event on July 17th at Perris Auto Speedway.

The 34-year old racer has confined most of his 2010 racing efforts to USAC/CRA events at Perris Auto Speedway. Despite the fact that he has skipped most of the out of town races, Cardey is still ranked sixth in USAC/CRA points and his four main event victories ties him for the overall series lead with Indiana based Damion Gardner. In addition to his four USAC/CRA triumphs at The PAS, Cardey also has two wins driving for Don Blair at the Victorville Auto Raceway.

This Saturday evening, the affable driver will be back behind the wheel of his own bright red #59 Sprint Car at The PAS where he has won four of the last five mains. When the series last appeared at The PAS on August 28th, Cardey tangled with another car on the start of the main and was forced to drop out and finished 22nd. That setback seems to have set the tempo for the past few races as well. On September 4th at the Louie Vermeil Classic at Calistoga, he was running just outside the top five when he broke a cam and ended up 19th. The following night, after blowing a tire and restarting at the back, he clawed his way back to third before slipping back to seventh after a late race red flag. Last week, he got into the wall in the Blair car at Victorville. Cardey has had enough of the bad luck and is poised to take a run at the first place trophy and check this Saturday at The PAS. Spectator gates will open at 5:00 PM and the first race will be at 7:00.
