From David Cardey Racing
Riverside, CA — (May 24, 2011) — When the USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series returns to action this Saturday night, May 28th, at Perris Auto Speedway, one of the favorites will be local racer David Cardey of Riverside. Heading into Saturday’s Salute To Indy event, Cardey is still looking for his first win of 2011, but he is a mere six-points behind the series leader.

Cardey, 35, closed the gap to six points with an eighth place finish at the last race in the series at Giant Chevrolet Kings Speedway in Hanford on May 7th. Thus far in 2011, Cardey has made four starts and the eighth place finish was his worst of the current campaign. His other three finishes have been a second at Victorville and a third & sixth at Perris.
At the start of the 2011 season, Cardey stated he was not going to be able to run the full circuit and contest for the title. Despite his current lofty position in the standings, Cardey maintains that posture and unless additional sponsorship is acquired, he will confine his racing to the local tracks.
