– JACKSON, Minn. (June 28) – He’s not satisfied, but given the circumstances, third place isn’t too shabby.

Danny Lasoski charged from 12th to the podium position on Friday at Jackson Speedway in Jackson, Minn., in the $12,000-to-win event at the ½-mile dirt oval.

“I’m not happy at all,” he said. “I wanted to win.”

In a twin heat race format, the Dover, Mo., native drove from third to win his first heat before going from last – seventh – to fifth in his second. That placed him 12th in overall points, which started him outside the sixth row for the main event.

“It’s too bad they had so much rain,” he said. “In the heat races, the track was narrow, one lane in the middle. The race track wasn’t two car lengths wide.”

As the night wore on, the track widened and gave Lasoski the opportunity to work his way into his 16th top-five finish of the season.

“It turned out to be a good race,” he said. “It was a jam-packed crowd and a lot of good drivers showed up.”

The veteran then drove to Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, to defend his 106-point advantage on Saturday. However, the race was rained out and with ominous weather predicted for Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, S.D., for the World of Outlaws’ race on Sunday, Lasoski drove back to his shop.

He is scheduled to compete in three races this weekend, starting Thursday at Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Neb., with the ASCS Midwest Region. He’ll then race Friday at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb., which is another ASCS Midwest event, before wrapping up the weekend on Saturday at Knoxville Raceway.

SPONSOR SPOTLIGHT – The Michael Ross Foundation
