COLLARD WINS ON CANADIAN NATIONAL AUTISM FOUNDATION NIGHT AT OHSWEKEN

From Ohsweken Speedway

For only the second time in 2011 a driver in the Corr/Pak Sprints went to victory lane for the second time. Jamie Collard backed up his win in the Northern Summer Nationals by beating teammate Wayne Johnson for the victory. Collard came into the night only 64 points back of leader Jim Huppunen. Huppunen had problems and has set up a tight points chase with two weeks remaining.

In the Lighthouse Tattoos Thunder Stock Phil Nyssen drove to victory lane but was unable to pass post race inspection. The disqualification led to Cory Turner claiming his first career win in his rookie season.

The STARS Championship Tour North Mod-Lites were on hand on Friday evening and put on another good showing. The once dominant Paul Klager got back on track by taking the checkers in the 20 lap feature. The tour continues Saturday night at South Buxton Raceway for their first ever visit to the D-shaped dirt oval near Chatham.

After a couple of bad weeks Karl Sault reclaimed the point lead in the HRW Automotive Mini Stocks by winning the 15 lap feature. Sault dominated the race and moved back into the top spot in the standings.

The Pierced Parts Bomber feature was a battle of the point leaders. New front man Jesse McDonald and second place driver Rodney Rutherford dueled it out before McDonald had mechanical problems. Rutherford went on to win the 15 lap race and unofficially reclaim the point lead.
