(Riverside, CA, September 28, 2011) After a ninth place finish in the Glenn Howard Memorial in the USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series last Saturday night at Perris Auto Speedway, David Cardey and the #59 team are getting prepared for the October 8th race at the Southern California Fair.
Cardey’s night on the famous Riverside County clay oval began on a bright note when he qualified seventh in the field of 32-cars. He then finished fourth in his ten-lap heat race and that earned him a front row starting spot for the 30-lap main event.
For the main, things did not as planned for the Riverside, California based racing star. After early contact by another car, Cardey settled into and stayed in the ninth spot for the duration of the race. After the race, the disappointed driver said, “We had a bad set up on a car I just can’t get comfortable in. So, it is back to the old car for good starting with the next race.”
That next race will expose Cardey and his sponsors to one of the biggest crowds of the year on opening day of the Southern California Fair on the Lake Perris Fairgrounds on October 8th. Qualifying and heat races will be run under the sun at 1:30 PM and the main event will begin at 7:00.
