Port Royal – For the first time in history, the mighty wingless warriors of USAC will roll into Port Royal Speedway in two weeks, on Saturday June 9 for the climax of the 2012 AMSOIL USAC Eastern Storm Series tour.

Never before have USAC wingless 410 sprint cars toured the wide and fast half-mile oval. But that’s all about to change.

The mud-slinging stars of USAC will invade the Juniata County oval where the traveling band will compete in a 30-lap feature paying $6,000 to win on June 9.

In addition, the Eastern Storm Series champion will be crowned at Port Royal with series bragging rights worth $1,000 up for grabs after the four-day series.

Eastern Storm races leading up to the Port Royal finale will be at Grandview Speedway on June 5, New Egypt Speedway on June 6 and at Big Diamond Speedway on June 8.

Also on the Port Royal program will be the ARDC Midgets for an open wheel doubleheader program plus pro stocks.

Local winged sprint pilot Mark Smith of Sunbury has already committed to competing in the entire Eastern Storm Series tour aboard his Mach 1.

Smith has been racing in the Midwest with USAC during the past two weeks and owns 32 career sprint wins at Port Royal Speedway.

It remains to be seen if Smith can conquer the mighty stars of USAC on his own turf.

Drivers expected to make the trek from the Midwest for the Eastern Storm Series include Jon Stanbrough, Bryan Clauson, Dave Darland, Tracy Hines, Justin Grant, Levi Jones, Damion Gardner, Darren Hagen, Casey Shuman, Hunter Schuerenberg, Coleman Gulick, Jerry Coons, Jr. and more.

The night will also be EMMR/Penn Central Racing Reunion Night with numerous restored racecars slated to be on display as part of the program. The restored cars will see track time during the program.

Gates for the awesome USAC program at Port Royal will open at 5 pm with adult general admission set at $25. Students ages 12 – 18 will be admitted for just $5.
