Knoxville Raceway is a special place on its own. But to race in the shadow of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame on induction weekend is incomparable. For Briggs Danner, Circle City Raceway just seemed to be one of those places that he couldn’t connect with over the years in USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship competition.
Yet, during Thursday night’s Circle City Salute Presented by Desnuda Tequila, Danner found the Indianapolis, Indiana 1/4-mile dirt oval to his liking, much thanks to a monster curb that bit others, but was one that Danner’s car found bite on.
The Terre Haute Action Track is where it all began for Mitchel Moles and Reinbold-Underwood Motorsports. Exactly four years ago to the day, May 20, 2022, Moles made an impressive USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship debut, leading 19 of the 30 laps before losing the lead late and finishing second. Since then, the Raisin City, California racer had always felt that it had been one that he let slip away.
There’s nothing finer than Indy in the month of May. But while the NTT INDYCAR Series competitors prepare for 500 miles on the other side of the city at IMS, a different breed of open wheel racing will be slinging dirt at Indianapolis, Indiana’s Circle City Raceway, located on the southeast side of Indy.
For more than a half century, the Tony Hulman Classic has been an event that every USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car driver desires to win. The 56th annual chapter of the longest running USAC National Sprint Car event, dating back to 1971, returns to western Indiana’s Terre Haute Action Track on Wednesday night, May 20.
Throughout Brady Bacon’s remarkable USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car career, he’s posted some staggering statistical facts and figures. On Saturday night at Rossburg, Ohio’s Eldora Speedway, the Broken Arrow, Oklahoma native put another one on the board of substantial significance.
There once was a time in which Kyle Cummins admittedly struggled on 1/2-mile tracks. Those days are long gone. In his 17th career Eldora USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car feature start, the Princeton, Indiana native finally conquered the Rossburg, Ohio 1/2-mile dirt oval during Friday night’s #LetsRaceTwo Presented by LGMG opener, a victory worth $12,000.
What you’ll get at Eldora Speedway this weekend is truly the best of both worlds! The legendary Rossburg, Ohio 1/2-mile dirt oval will be home to USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship and NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Sprint Car racing with both series competing in a dream doubleheader on back-to-back nights, Friday-Saturday, May 15-16.
Another historic venue awaits the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series. Amid a month of May that features several of the sport’s most famed tracks, Rossburg, OH’s Eldora Speedway is next on the agenda for The Greatest Show on Dirt.
”We won at Haubstadt!” Mitchel Moles finally traded in his silver for gold during Saturday night’s 13th running of the Spring Showdown at Haubstadt, Indiana’s Tri-State Speedway.
