Fremont, OH – (April 12, 2013) – Heavy rains all day Thursday dumped too much water on the Sandusky County Fairgrounds for Fremont Speedway personnel to work with. So, “The Track That Action Built” has cancelled racing for the season opener, Saturday, April 13.

“I’ve never seen water lay around like this. The entire fairgrounds has standing water. The track drained well but the water saturated the surface and there just isn’t any sun to get it dried to where we can get equipment on the track,” said Fremont Speedway Promoter Rich Farmer.

Fremont Speedway will attempt it’s season opener Saturday, April 20 on JRC Transportation Night with the Fort Ball Pizza Palace 410 Sprints, Fremont Federal Credit Union 305 Sprints; the AAA Ohio Auto Club Dirt Trucks and Surfin’ Sweepstakes Compacts in action. Gates will open at 4 p.m. with racing underway at 7 p.m.
