For the second week in a row rain spoiled the night for Ohsweken Speedway race fans. After a complete rainout on June 1st action resumed on Friday night with a full card of Sprint Cars, Thunder Stocks, Bombers and the special Abel Castelein Twin 14’s for Mini Stocks.

WEEK TWO ACTION AT OHSWEKEN SPEEDWAY CANCELED BY RAIN

Tonight’s scheduled Friday Night Thunder event at Ohsweken Speedway presented by Grisdale Racing is cancelled due to inclement weather. Rain began early Friday morning, and forecasts indicate that it will continue well into the night, with heavy thunderstorms also predicted in the evening hours.

IT’S RENEWAL TIME FOR FANS HOLDING 2011 OHSWEKEN SPEEDWAY SPECIAL EVENT TICKETS

Ohsweken Speedway advanced ticket coordinator Cheryl Pelkie has announced that Advanced Reserved Seat Tickets will go on sale Monday, December 5th to 2011 ticket holders for the World of Outlaw Sprints scheduled to compete in 2012 on Tuesday, July 31st and the Annual Canadian Sprint Car Nationals, scheduled to run the 8th edition on Friday, September 14th and Saturday, Sept. 15th.

Wayne Johnson won the battle of Miles Hill owned cars to win the Dave MacLeod Mr. Sprint Car Challenge during Friday’s Night Before the Nationals program at Ohsweken Speedway. Johnson defeated his teammate Jamie Collard, who was one of MacLeod’s last drivers, for the victory.

Collard Capitalizes on Poirier’s Misfortune To Win Ohsweken Shootout

Jamie Collard became the first Ontario driver to win the Ohsweken Shootout Friday night during the Canadian Sprint Car Nationals. Collard managed to avoid disaster when then leader Steve Poirier had mechanical problems when leading and motored on to win the special 10-lap event featuring top drivers from each of the affiliate sanctioning bodies taking place in the Nationals.
