Kennedale, TX — 225 race teams from as far away as Washington, California, Iowa, Illinois and most points between converged upon Cowtown Speedway for opening night of the 3rd Annual November Sprint Shootout presented by City Vending and the ASCS2 Series Finale presented by Eagle Chassis.

This recap is being written while races are still underway, but the top six sprint qualifiers are now locked in for Saturday’s $7,000 to win 35-lap, 24-car finale.

The racing in both 25-lap sprint features could best be described as pandemoneum, as sprint drivers were racing three wide throughout both races, one driver ending up going through a newly constructed gate, a second driver trying to go through the same gate in a later incident, and when the checkered flags fell the following six sprint drivers are now locked in:

Top three finishers of A-feature #1: Travis Rilat, Tony Bruce Jr. (started 5th) and Eric Baldaccini. Andy Shouse, Kolt Walker, DonnieRay Crawford, Jonathan Beason, Brian McClelland, Kevin Ramey (from the tail) and Gary Taylor wrapped up the top 10. Front row starter Skip Wilson was unable to fire his car to take the green.

Top three finishers of A-feature #2: Wayne Johnson, Tim Crawley and Brady Bacon. The balance of the top 10 were Sam Hafertepe Jr., Dustin Morgan, J.P. Bailey, Gary Wright (from last), Scott Reneau, Justin Melton and John Ricketts.

Saturday night’s twin sprint B features will advance the top 9 finishers straight up to tag the six that are locked in.

For complete results, they will be posted soon at www.CowtownSpeedway.com in the results forum.

Saturday’s action gets underway at 3:30 with hot laps and races to follow immediately after. Kids 3-5 are $2, Youth 6-12 are $5 and 13 and up are $25. Pit passes for all ages are $35.
