The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series cars have made it into the Golden State and are continuing to make their way to the Ocean Speedway. For the first time since 2008, the stars and cars of the “Greatest Show on Dirt” will take to the racy quarter mile as they are set to do battle on Friday, April 1st.

Just last weekend, the series made their 2016 debut in California, and it was David Gravel picking up his first win of the season, as he led all 35 laps and was able to fend of World of Outlaw star, Shane Stewart, as well as California standout, Willie Croft.

As the month of March hits the halfway point, tickets to the April 1st event are becoming scarce, and fans are encouraged to get their advance tickets orders in ASAP, to ensure their preferred seat.

As it sits now, California veteran, Brad Sweet, continues to lead the 2016 series points, as he currently has a 68 point lead over the aforementioned, Stewart, and a 71 point lead over Joey Saldana, who has visited victory lane at the Ocean Speedway back in 2000.

These three drivers will be in action on April 1st, along with reinging series Champion, Donny Schatz, Sweet’s Kasey Kahne Racing teammate, Daryn Pittman, California native, Paul McMahan, Tennessee’s Jason Sides, the PA duo of Logan Schuchart and Jacob Allan, 2015 World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series Rookie of the Year, Jason Johnson, the series’ most recent winner, David Gravel, 2016 Rookie of the Year hopeful, Greg Wilson, as well as a strong contingent of California drivers.

The April 1st event at the Ocean Speedway marks the first time the series has visited the ¼ mile bullring located on the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds. Back in 2008, it was “The King of the Outlaws”, Steve Kinser, outduelling fellow Hall of Fame driver, Jac Haudenchild, to grab the win in what was a very memorable race at the Ocean Speedway. Other drivers to win with the World of Outlaws at the Ocean Speedway include Brad Furr in 2002, Andy Hillenburg in 2001, and Joey Saldana in 2000.

Tickets for this great event featuring the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series are currently on sale now, and we encourage fans to order their tickets in advance, as walk up tickets are sure to be limited.
