Cottage Grove, Oregon- After a disappointing cancellation, due to rain, last weekend Cottage Grove Speedway returns to racing on Saturday, July 16th. It will be BMD Night, with the local Bohemia Mining Days festivities taking place the same weekend, as well as Ladies Night. The special promotion for Ladies Night is that all ladies, eighteen or older, get into the races for FREE. Classes in action include 360 Sprints, Late Models, IMCA Sport Mods, and the Quality RV Repair Hornets.
The 360 Sprints will be back after a busy Speedweek Northwest. Roger Crockett has won the lion’s share of events in 2016 by capturing three of five events. Jason Solwold and Trey Starks have managed to achieve one win each.
The Late Models make their return after a successful Logger’s Cup last month. In five races there have been five different winners. Britton Donahoo, Ron Brewster, Darren Coffell, Rob Campos, and John Duty are among the winners so far during the current campaign.
In the IMCA Sport Mods it has been all about Jordon Braaten. Despite missing a couple of events this year Braaten has won four main events in four appearances. Chris Frisbie and Jimmy Lipke are the two other drivers that have been victorious in 2016.
The Quality RV Repair Hornets lately have been dominated by Joe Maricle. Maricle has won the last three consecutive features bringing his total to six visits to victory lane. Josh Corley has four wins while Brad Moffett and K.C. Scott have one a piece.
