Hanover, PA (8/26/10) – Jeff Rohrbaugh surprised some drivers en route to his first Trail-Way “358″ sprint car win of the year on Friday night.

Not that he won, but how he won.

Rohrbaugh, who started 12th, went to the top side to pass cars on two different occasions to score his 23rd career Trail-Way win.

“That’s not like me,” said Rohrbaugh upon exiting his CTI/Flat Work Concrete/Delco Signs #45 in victory lane, “But those guys were hugging the bottom.”

The first outside move came around Brian Allman to move into third on the front stretch to complete lap 14, and the second outside pass was his race-winning move around race-long leader Scott Fisher on lap 18.

“Wow. I guess luckily, Cris (Eash) and Billy (Dietrich) didn’t make the cut (handicap inversion),” added Rohrbaugh, “We haven’t been struggling, but we just haven’t been winning.”

As for the points lead, Rohrbaugh said, “It’s not over ‘til it’s over. Wins pay more than the championship, so we just want wins. The title will take care of itself.”

Rohrbaugh’s final margin of victory was 1.76 seconds over 16th starting Cris Eash, with Fisher settling for third, Steve Owings coming from 18th starting spot to finish fourth, and Keith Prutzman fifth.

Sixth through tenth were Allman, Dale Hammaker, 21st-starting Billy Dietrich, 22nd-starting Logan Schuchart, and 19th-starting Tim Wagaman.

Heats for the 27 “358″ Sprints were won by Zach Euculano, Randy Whisler, and Prutzman, with Schuchart winning the consolation.
