UNHEARD OF 7 FREE FEATURES FAN NIGHT COMING TO PORT ROYAL JUNE 14

Port Royal, PA — (May 28, 2014) —  A virtually unheard of 7 Feature Free Admission Fan Appreciation Night at Port Royal Speedway has been announced for Saturday, June 14 at 7 pm.

The bold promotion will find the general public receive TOTALLY FREE GENERAL ADMISSION for a total of seven feature races to be contested on the night.

On tap will be the final 16 laps of the May 24 Fallen Heroes Championship for 410 sprints that was postponed mid race by rain while Mike Erdley was leading.

Also slated will be another rain postponed, full 25-lap 410 sprint feature held over from May 3.

For super late models, on the agenda will be the running of the 25-lap Fallen Heroes Championship from May 24 and a rain delayed 20-lap feature from May 3.

And then back to sprint action, a pair of full features for the 305 sprints will be run as well, held over from May 24 and May 3 before the night closes with an xtreme stock main event.

ALL GENERAL ADMISSION FOR THE JUNE 14, SEVEN-FEATURES PROGRAM IS FREE.

May 24 pit raincheck wristbands will be honored for pit admission on June 14. Anyone without a May 24 raincheck wristband who wishes to enter the pit area on June 14 will be required to purchase a pit admission at the regular price of $25.

Mike Erdley was leading the way in the May 24 Fallen Heroes Championship for the 410 sprints when a red flag unfurled with nine laps down for a vicious flip in the third turn by New York’s Justin Barger. Dylan Cisney also piled into the wreckage.

Erdley was leading the sprint main over Rick Lafferty, Dave Ely, Lucas Wolfe and Blane Heimbach before the stoppage.

And then while under the red flag conditions the rain began falling, forcing postponement of the balance of the night’s action.

Port Royal Speedway is in action on June 7 with the wingless super sprint cars of USAC invading the oval for a 30-lap, $6,000 to win main as part of the USAC Eastern Storm tour.

Also on the June 7 program is the ARDC Midgets for their only show of the season at the track and the Gray’s Auto & Towing 355 econo late models.

June 7 will also be the big Penn Central Racing/EMMR Racing Reunion night at the track with dozens of restored racers on display for the night.

The 2014 Founders Awards will also be presented at the June 7 program.
