Morris, IL—On Saturday night, the D’Arcy GMC STARS series gained another member to its 4-win club. Channahon, Illinois native Brad Greenup joined the short list of drivers to win four times in a season, but it didn’t come easy. Billy Hulbert was hungry to go back to back and collect his second win of the season, giving Greenup one final challenge on the final lap. He had everyone on the edge of their seats as he took the high side around Greenup at the exit of turn two and the two were dead even down the backstretch. Hulbert stayed high with the advantage heading into the final two corners but a small wiggle in turn four would be the deciding factor that allowed Greenup to pull ahead and collect the win.

Greenup joins Jimmy Anderson, Kyle Hamilton, and Austin Prock as the only drivers to win four times in a season. Hamilton holds the record with five victories, which he posted last season. “To be in the same category as those guys means a lot because they have been the cars we all chased for the last few seasons,” said Greenup. He also added, “I’ve looked up to Jimmy for my whole career and to join him means a lot to me.” Greenup extended his points lead to 55 over Tyler Baran who finished fourth on the evening, behind Ryan Probst. Probst said his 3rd place felt like a win after he and his Lucas Oil team fought mechanical issues all night long. Probst was unable to practice or qualify because of the issue. Nick Baran rounded out the top five.

Max Pozsgai picked up his first career win at the Grundy County Speedway in the Illini Racing Series division, edging out his teammate Patrick Bruns. Ed Ensor was victorious once again in the Classic Modifieds. Amanda Bohn won her second race of the season in the CSR SuperCup series and Jordan Caskey came out on top in the Midwest Legacy feature event.

Saturday, August 22nd marks the annual D’Arcy GMC Pavement Nationals. Last year Kyle Hamilton took home the hardware. It was his second victory in the Pavement Nationals, winning in 2012. Gates open to the Grundy County Speedway at 4:30pm with the first race taking place at 6:00.
