Two Racing Icons Reunite! USAC Sprints are coming back to Lernerville Speedway in 2011!

Sarver, PA (January 26, 2011) After a five year hiatus, the legendary USAC Sprints are coming back to the historic Don Martin’s Lernerville Speedway on Memorial Day, Monday, May 30 for a $5,000-to-win wingless sprint shootout! Complimenting the wingless warriors on Memorial Day will be the Lernerville Speedway debut of the FASTRAK Northeast Regional Touring Series.

The series that helped launch the careers of Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, Ryan Newman and Kasey Kahne will return to the 4/10 mile Action Track in Sarver, PA that helped launch the careers of Dave Blaney, Brad Doty, Tim Shaffer and Dale Blaney.

When the USAC Sprints last rocketed around the Action Track on May 5, 2006, Darren Hagen took the checkered flag in the 30-lapper over Jerry Coons Jr.

Tony Stewart Racing’s Levi Jones won the 2010 USAC Sprint Championship and should headline the 2011 tour. Damion Gardner and Bryan Clauson are expected to be the front runners to challenge Jones for the USAC Sprint Title.

FASTRAK Late Models are one of the fastest growing divisions in dirt track racing and their finally bring the Northeast Touring Series to the famed Action Track at Don Martin’s Lernerville Speedway. FASTRAK fans have enjoyed the thrilling and ongoing battle between Lynn Geisler-protégé Mike Pegher Jr. and third generation star Max Blair.

The battles between Pegher and Blair have helped boost the popularity of FASTRAK throughout Western PA and Eastern OH, but they are also annual combatants for the National Weekly Series and Grand Nationals Championships.

Pegher will be joined by former Lernerville Speedway Sportsman/Stock Champion Butch Lambert, as well as former and current Lernerville regulars like Chris Schneider, Jason Fosnaught.

Blair will lead the charge of FASTRAK young guns along with Joe Martin, Josh Holtgraver, Josh Double and Steel City Stampede Feature Winner Bryan Force.

Veteran ace drivers like Mike Blose, David Scott, Robbie Blair, Dick Barton and Gregg Satterlee have all dabbled in FASTRAK competition over the past few years, so an extremely diverse and talented field is expected to be in competition for the first ever FASTRAK sanctioned race at Lernerville Speedway!
