USAC’s 2k11 “Generation Next” Mopar .25 Midgets converge on the North Carolina Quarter Midget Association’s home track in Salisbury, N.C. this weekend for Round Three of the tour and participants will be eligible to compete in the July 5-9 “Battle at the Brickyard” at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The event is the Eastern District Qualifier presented by Tanner by Mittler Brothers.
In addition, USAC’s Mopar .25 drivers will be admitted free to this Friday’s Eastern Ford Focus race at Ace Speedway in nearby Altamahaw, N.C. and their parents will be admitted for the reduced ticket price of just $5.00! USAC Members will be required to show their USAC hard cards to receive these ticket offers.
Following the largest car count in Nashville, Tenn. history at the recent “Music City” event, Salisbury will be open to sign-in and heat race pill draws on Friday, beginning at 5 pm. On Saturday competition begins in Rookie, Junior/Senior/Heavy Honda, Light/Heavy 160, Junior/Senior/Unrestricted Animal, Jr. Stock, MOD, B, Light/Heavy World Formula, Light/Heavy AA and Half classes. Heats, lower mains and possibly A mains are on tap Saturday, depending on weather.
Sunday completes the A mains, with victory lane ceremonies following, showcasing the top-three finishers in each class.
“We had over 200 cars at this event last year and expect another great turnout,” says USAC Developmental Racing Director James Spink. “This event is also round number two of the USAC Mid-Atlantic Championship Series.”
Once again, USAC’s website plans to stream live video of the event at www.usacracing.com.
