Brighton, ON — (August 30, 2012) — The Labour Day Classic Weekend is here! Two days of thrilling Sprint Car racing action at Brighton Speedway where the 2012 Southern Ontario Sprints Champion will be crowned!
Saturday night will kick off the weekends action with round 10 of the Southern Ontario Sprints Championship. Lee Ladouceur is the current SOS Champion and leads the points heading into the weekend. Can Lee hold off Keith Dempster to become only the second driver to win back to back Championships since Glenn Styers in 2007-2008
Featured Saturday night will be the Four Wide Design Ltd. “Dream come True” Dash. This is a race open to drivers that have never held a checkered flag and with crossing the finish line someones dream of winning their first sprint car race will come true.
Limited practice time for the non-wing race will be held after the features Saturday night.
On Sunday afternoon the party starts at 12:00 pm with the Race Car Show and Shine, Lawn Tractor Pullers, Backyard Bouncer’s Obstacle Course, Dunk Tank, Pit Stop Competition and more. Brighton Speedway is hosting a delicious Pig Roast in support of their Driver’s Points Fund. Come out for an afternoon of fun and excitement.
Sunday night is the final Southern Ontario Sprints championship points night of 2012. With 2 races to go and a tight points battle it will be down to the wire to crown the 2012 Champion.
Sunday night is also Topless Night on the Oval! While the Brighton Speedway Latemodel division will compete “topless” all night the weekends races will be topped off with a special Non-wing sprint car dash for the cash. Starting Positions will be determined by draw.

NOTE:
Teams traveling from Western Ontario should be aware of major construction at the 401 & 410 interchange in Mississauga. Severe traffic delays are likely in the area.
Temporary SOS memberships are available for $20 for the first night. MC3 right rear tires required. New tires are available at the SOS pit stand for $200 ea. Some teams may have used tires available as well.
Drivers are reminded that the early start time and sunset can be a factor on track in turn 3 during the heat races on Sunday.
