Kenyon Midget Series to Close Out 2012 Season Saturday at Anderson

From Eric Bunn

Lebanon, IN — (October 3, 2012) — The 2012 USSA Mel Kenyon Midget Series Season will wrap-up on Saturday night at Anderson Speedway.  The 30-lap feature will bring a season long championship point race that began on April 21 at the Indianapolis Speedrome to a close.

Mel Kenyon Midget Series Point leader Travis Young will take a slim 39 point advantage over runner-up Dameron Taylor onto the high banks at Anderson.  USSA’s point structure means that the championship can turn on a bad heat race for either driver.

Sitting in 3rd and 4th place, Jessica Bean and Cordy Horn are racing hard to determine who will claim the 3rd championship spot.  Grant Simpson rounds out the top five in points heading into Anderson.

The USSA Mel Kenyon Midget Series will be joining the Must See Racing Supermodified Twin 50-lap features, UMRA Midgets and Thunder Roadsters on Anderson Speedway’s racing card.  Hot laps begin at 4, qualifying at 5:45 and racing will kick-off at 7.
