Brownsburg, IN — (April 2, 2013) —  Dan Motter, owner of the Motter Equipment Fatheadz Eyewear 71M Sprint Car driven by Joey Saldana, announced today that the team has chosen Penske Racing Shocks as their exclusive supplier.

 

“We have been very impressed with not only the Penske Racing Shocks, but also the unmatched customer service we have received from the company,” said Motter.  “Their specialists have worked closely with our crew chief Davey Whitworth to tailor a shock specifically for our needs.

 

“In World of Outlaws racing, the competition is very close, and one of the most critical components of the set-up is the shock absorber.

To date in 2013 competition, the newly-formed Motter Equipment Fatheadz Eyewear 71M team has two top five finishes, six top ten finishes, one quick time and one track record.

 

Joey Saldana is no stranger to this Penske Shocks having used their products in 2009, the year he won his career-high 20 events.

 

Saldana placed fourth in 2012 World of Outlaws Sprint Car point standings.  He has an impressive 83 career wins, placing him seventh in all-time victories for the category.

 

Motter raced sprint cars as an owner/driver/mechanic from 1973 to 1981 with the Midwest Sprint Association before turning to team ownership in 1990.  His high-profile teams have included some of the best drivers in sprint car competition, namely Kenny Jacobs, Stevie Smith, and Doug Wolfgang.  Motter chose to retire from racing at the end of the 1997 season to return this season after a 15-year hiatus.
