A flat left-rear tyre and then an overheating engine brought Danny Reidy’s run in the Dash for Cash event last Saturday night at Maryborough Speedway to a premature end.
In a night that was hampered by the wet weather, that saw the second round of heat races in order to beat the threatening rain, Reidy started the feature race from back in the field out of position 12. While working his way through the field, he was involved in someone else’s accident while sitting inside the top 10, and as a result it saw him suffer a flat left-rear tyre. After restarting at the back of the field, Reidy’s engine then started to overheat, and he was forced to retire to the infield on lap 14.
Reidy had earlier in the meeting qualified eighth in time trials, followed that up by a seventh place in his opening heat race.
Despite his Dash for Cash night ending in disappointing fashion, Reidy I confident of bouncing back to form when he returns to Archerfield Speedway this Saturday night (March 15) for the 11th round of the KRE Series.
Reidy Racing would like to thank Desert Palms Resort in Alice Springs, Downs Tinting & Signs, P&M Motor Body Repairs, Gonzo’s Race Pipes and Inglis Race Engines, for all of their 2013-14 season support.
