Plano, TX — (December 2, 2014) — As the 2015 season inches closer and closer, T.J. Michael and Michael Motorsports have a lot to think about, and even more to look forward to. The Plano, Texas native, who spent the most recent season competing full-time in the state of Ohio behind the wheel of the Michael Motorsports/Fremont Fence Company/Advanced Cast Stone ‘305’ sprint car, will make the big transition into ‘410’ sprint car racing nearly full-time in 2015, with plans to travel to various high paying events in all parts of the country. Michael does not intend to commit to any specific series or track, but instead, spend his upcoming campaign with a ‘true outlaw’ style.
“Our plan is to race a lot and travel a lot” said T.J. Michael regarding 2015, “We don’t plan to follow any specific series…we just want to run a lot of bigger shows and high paying shows…if possible, we are going to attempt to run a few of the new NSL (National Sprint League) races..it is going to be a busy next few weeks getting things prepared…we are really excited.”
Although the plan is to compete in the ‘410’ ranks as much as possible next season, the seventeen-year-old has intentions to kick-off the year with ‘360’ sprint car competition in his home state, as well as enter the Chili Bowl if all goes according to plan.
“We plan to start the year in Texas running a ‘360’ sprint car,” said Michael, “The ASCS Gulf Region hosts a lot of races in our area so we’ll enter those events when the schedule permits…I also hope to enter the Chili Bowl in January if things come together in time…I just want to thank everyone behind me and our race team…without the support from our sponsors, none of this would be possible.”
T.J. Michael’s most recent season ended with an impressive 21 top-ten finishes in just 34 starts. The former Fremont/Attica Sprint Title (F.A.S.T.) and Fremont Speedway ‘305’ sprint car ‘Rookie Of The Year’ earned one ‘305’ feature victory in 2014; taking place at the Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio back on May 17th. The pilot of the Michael Motorsports ‘8M’ made five ‘410’ sprint starts towards the end of his recent campaign, with his best finish equalling a 16th place performance during the 2014 F.A.S.T. finale at the Fremont Speedway on September 6th.
“We are excited for the upcoming season” said T.J. Michael, “It is a big step, and a huge commitment, but we are ready for the challenge!”
