– GREENWOOD, Neb. (Sept. 1, 2015) – Jack Dover achieved a major feat last Saturday at I-80 Speedway where he captured the Speedy Bill Memorial for the second straight year.
The win was Dover’s 12th of the season and his 100th since advancing into 360ci sprint car competition in 2006.
“It means a lot to win the Speedy Bill Memorial for the second straight year,” he said. “Plus, I did it at a local track in front of my home fans. It was a special night.”
Dover kicked off the Carpetland Nebraska 360 Sprints event by winning his heat race from the pole position. That earned him a spot in the feature redraw, where he pulled the No. 1 to start the main event on the pole.
“Luck was on my side all night long,” he said. “I drew the No. 1, which I haven’t done all year long in the series. The track was good and everybody was fast so it was important to start up front. I took off from the beginning and I never really had a threat. The car was just perfect.”
Dover led all 24 laps to secure his fourth win of the season at I-80 Speedway. It also marked his series-leading eighth win – all in the last 10 races – with the Carpetland Nebraska 360 Sprints, which he will race with again this Sunday at I-80 Speedway.
Dover owns a 51-point lead in the championship standings entering this weekend’s Bobby Parker Memorial.
