BOSS Releases 2012 Preliminary Schedule

From Boss

The Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series is pleased to announce the preliminary 2012 schedule for the non wing sprint car tour in and around the Buckeye State. Although not complete, this schedule gives teams and fans an idea of what to expect from the Midwest’s newest and most exciting sprint car series.

There are a few “to be announced” dates and a few tentative dates, and most of those are under negotiations with sponsors and/or under tire rule negotiations. The BOSS tour will once again be an open tire rule series with bonus awards up for grabs for the highest finishing driver sporting all four tires of each respective manufacturer.

The season will begin with a doubleheader on Friday and Saturday, May 18-19 with shows at Wayne County Speedway and Mercer Raceway Park. Three weeks later, the series will travel to Southern Ohio Speedway for the 3rd annual “Gene Comstock Memorial” and the debut of non wing sprints at that track on Friday, June 8th. The next night the series will move on to the Legendary Lawrenceburg Speedway in Indiana.

On Saturday, June 23rd, the series will head back for its second visit to the Keystone State for a higher paying event, the BOSS “Blackjack 21” at Pittsburgh PA Motor Speedway. Complete purse details will be released at a later date, but the race will start 21 cars for 21 laps on the 1/2 mile oval and will pay a minimum of $300 to start. Saturday, July 14th will see the BOSS series bring non wing sprint racing back to Sharon Speedway after many years.

In July, the BOSS drivers have been invited to join the new Ontario Topless Sprints for a 2 day weekend in Canada. This will be a non-points weekend due to the extended travel. The OTS will be joining BOSS at several BOSS events in 2012.

The BOSS series will return to action the weekend of August 3-4 with another doubleheader weekend. The Friday night date is still under negotiation, but Saturday, August 4th, the series will return to Lawrenceburg Speedway for another battle on the high banks.

Several other races are still in negotiations for August and September. Those dates should be ironed out within the next 30 days. The series will conclude back at Wayne County Speedway on Saturday, October 6th with their 2nd annual “Topless Finale” featuring the BOSS non wing sprints with topless late models and optional topless in their other classes.

The BOSS tour points champion for 2012 is guaranteed a $1,000 cash prize at the end of the season and the top 15 drivers will earn cash awards and trophies. Additional sponsors are beginning to come on board to help the series points fund to grow.
