(August 7, 2012)…This Friday night, August 10, Silver Dollar Speedway is going to give the fans two sprint car shows for the price of one. Dennis Gage is going out on a limb to try and shake things up. This Friday night, the only two divisions scheduled are the 410 sprints and a separate 360 winged show. “I love this idea,” said Andy Forsberg of Auburn, CA who is bringing both his 410 and 360 sprint cars. “I give him credit for trying something new.” Hot August Wings will be an event that should draw lots of interest.
Friday’s event will mark Wells Fargo point championship race #13 for the 410 sprint cars. The 360 sprint car winged race will be a normal open show with Civil War rules. However, a 360 driver has a decision to make. Once at the track, a 360 winged driver is allowed to race in both separate shows for the price of one admission. This means a 360 driver could get in two nights of racing in just one night. “Once a driver comes through our pit gate on Friday night we are charging them a normal pit fee,” said Gage. “The 360 winged drivers then can just race against other 360’s and also register to compete in the 410 race.”
Tonight the 410 sprint cars will qualify, run heat races and a main event. The 360 sprint cars will also have a separate qualifying, heat races and main event. We are hopeful to have good car counts in each division. Of course, this is all subject to change if we do not get appropriate car counts in each division.
Front grandstand gate will open at 6pm. Qualifying is scheduled for 7pm. Adult general admission is $12.00. Juniors and seniors are $10.00. Kids aged 6-11 are $6.00. Children 5 and under are free. Sean Becker and Andy Forsberg will continue their epic point battle this Friday night. As of now, Forsberg will be doing double duty. The two hottest drivers include Mason Moore and Brad Bumgarner. Both drivers will also be competing in the 410 ranks. Other 410 stars will include Kevin Sharrah, Michael Tarter, BJ Martin and Tyler Wolf. Winged 360 drivers include Mike Henry, Andy Forsberg and Craig Swim.
