An Amazing Track Record: Steve Kinser Looks to Add to Mark at Houston Raceway Park

Steve Kinser gets up to speed pretty quick at most every track the World of Outlaws visit and can adapt to just about any conditions the track may throw at him, having won at nearly every track on the circuit. One track he is especially fast at and that suits his driving style very well is the immaculate Houston Raceway Park in Baytown, where the World of Outlaws will compete on Saturday, March 13 in the Texas Shootout as part of the Texas Two-Step Weekend.

EXTREME MUFFLERS ANNOUNCES USAC WEST COAST 360 SPRINTS CONTINGENCY

Extreme Mufflers has announced a contingency program for competitors with the USAC West Coast 360 Sprint Car Series for 2010. Extreme will award a $100 product certificate to the drivers that win the First Heat Race of every program. To qualify for the contingency, competitors must display the Extreme Muffler decal on their car. The decals will be available at the racetrack and distributed by series officials.

KASEY KAHNE SEEKS 41ST USAC VICTORY AT HICKORY

Kasey Kahne hopes his driver Brad Sweet can continue his 2010 USAC Mopar National Midget success when the series makes its inaugural appearance at Hickory (N.C.) Motor Speedway March 24-25. A win would be Kasey’s 41st in USAC competition as a driver or a car owner.

A Home Race: Sam Hafertepe Jr. Geared up for Stop at Lone Star Speedway

Being from Texas, Sam Hafertepe Jr. doesn t get to stop back home very often during the racing season, but he will this week, and he ll also be able to sleep in his own bed and race at his home track of Lone Star Speedway in Kilgore, as the World of Outlaws return to the blazing fast high-banked track for the second consecutive year for the opener of the Texas Two-Step Weekend on Friday, March 12.

USAC WEST COAST 360 SPRINTS HEAD FOR HANFORD SATURDAY

Round two for the USAC West Coast 360 Sprint Car Series will be held this Saturday night, March 13th, at Giant Speedway in Hanford, California. It will be the first of five events at the 3/8-mile facility, followed by June 5th, July 17th, August 21st, and the Jim Turner Memorial on September 11th. The Turner Memorial is also the finale for the Southwest Contractors 360 Clash, a four-race mini-series that has a $5,000 point fund.

TARLTON AND MURPHY KICK OFF SEASON AT TULARE

Tarlton Motorsports kicked off the 2010 season at the always exciting Tulare Thunderbowl, in Tulare, Ca. 2009 Ocean Sprints 360 Sprint Car champion, Tommy Tarlton competed against the always pesky traveling World of Outlaws winged Sprint Car group. Peter Murphy competed in the Non-Wing portion of the weekend, competing with the West Coast 360 Sprint Car Series.

McMahan prepared to carry Steve Harris’ legacy into 2010

At the conclusion of the 2009 racing season, veteran driver Bobby McMahan of Elk Grove accomplished a missing accolade on his racing resume; a championship title at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico. For McMahan the title meant far more then the trophy and the bragging rights, it was final achievement with veteran car owner and his dear friend Steve Harris by his side.
