Travis Rilat led the Team XXX charge over the weekend, as the former ASCS National Champion and current Fred Brownfield Memorial champ picked off his second win of the year in his XXX chassis at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, TX. Other Team XXX Winners included Ryan Beechler in Texas plus Scott Lutz and Brock Zearfoss in Pennsylvania.
Rilat scored his second win of 2010 in weekly racing at Devil’s Bowl Speedway, taking his XXX chassis to the front after starting inside row two. Rilat has been a top 10 machine this year, finishing 9 of his 11 mains in the top 10 so far according to www.openwheeltimes.com.
Down the road at Kennedale Speedway Park, Ryan Beechler returned to his winning ways in the Racesaver 305 class, picking up a victory over the 16 car field on Saturday night. Beechler has been a force in the Texas 305 ranks over the past three years in his XXX chassis.
XXX wins in Pennsylvania 410 racing continue to pile up. This week, it was the #33 XXX chassis sprinter driven by Scott Lutz. Lutz found victory lane on Friday at Clinton County Speedway in the Dotterer Equipment 410 Sprint class. This particular XXX chassis was purchased from local XXX dealer STB Performance and equipped with a Scott Baylor Racing Engines 410 … so this was really a home grown PA win for STB performance.
Brock Zearfoss took down a stout field of 600s for his first win of the ’10 campaign, scoring the victory Friday night at Linda’s Speedway in Jonestown, PA in his Triple X Race Co 600 mini sprint. Zearfoss started inside row two, and ran down race leader Jake Murphy to take the lead and the win. After looking fast in his early season Florida runs, Zearfoss is firing on all cylinders now and taking on the best of the PA 600 scene.
