This Saturday’s USAC/SMRS Great Plains Midget race program at 24 Raceway in Moberly, Mo. will offer “double” points to participating drivers.
The race is one of two this weekend impacting the USAC/SMRS points race. Friday’s “Kevin Doty Classic” USAC Mopar National Midget race at Pontoon Beach, Ill., co-sanctioned by POWRi, also awards SMRS points and is listed on the 2010 USAC/SMRS calendar of events.
Brad Loyet of Sunset Hills, Mo. is the current point leader in the USAC/SMRS Great Plains series following his victory in March at Fort Worth Texas. He carries a 30-point lead over Don Droud Jr. entering this weekend’s races.
The Moberly race is the first for USAC at the track since 1989.
In related USAC/SMRS news, the series will return to Texas in August for races at Crandall (RPM Speedway of Texas) August 21 and Fort Worth (Cowtown Speedway) August 22.
