TORRANCE, CA – APRIL 30, 2010… Alexander Racing, which fields the #4 USAC/CRA Sprint Car, is proud to announce that Scott Sales Company has signed on as the team’s new title sponsor. Driven by “The Cowboy” Tony Jones, the popular “silver bullet” entry has reached victory circle twenty times since 2006 and earned the series title in 2007.
For Alexander Racing, the new partnership could not have come at a better time. Like many of those involved in motorsports, the economy has hurt the team’s budget and sponsorship prospects. Now with renewed energy, the team looks to the Memorial Day weekend shows at the Perris Auto Speedway and the Groppetti Automotive Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare. Tomorrow night, Tony Jones and the Alexander Team will race with the 360/410 Sprints at the Victorville Auto Raceway.
Led by Mark and Steve Alexander, the team is competing in their 20th season. Beginning at the legendary Ascot Park in Gardena with the USAC TQ Midget Series, the Alexanders have won 45 main events throughout their career. Besides Jones, veteran drivers Cory Kruseman, Rickie Gaunt, and Mike Kirby have scored feature wins in the Alexander sprinter.
Alexander Racing also welcomes the return of VP Racing Fuel, Larry Murakami Contracting, and VGI Graphics to their efforts. This is a big boost as the team looks to return to the USAC/CRA championship point chase.
