Sikeston, Mo (05-05-09)
The 2010 Midwest All Star points’ race is underway, and Jerrod Hull has picked up where he left off 2009, on top of the points. Hull gained the position with being the highest finishing Midwest All Star driver at the IRA vs. Midwest All Star event last Saturday night at Charter Raceway Park. Jerrod would finish out the night being scored for a fifth place finish while fellow Midwest All Star drivers would finish behind the 3-time Champion.
“We like running with the IRA (Interstate Racing Association) at events like this. It gives us opportunity to race at facilities we don’t normally get a chance to against some very good competition. It’s a long pull for us from home, but finishing in the top 5 makes the night a lot better,” Hull stated.
The Sikeston, Missouri native once again finds himself in the front for Midwest All Star points as well as on top of the points with the Sprint Invader Association and in 3rd position with the USCS (United Speed Contest Sanction) Mid South Thunder Tour just 5 points out of first. Hull has positioned himself in these tight point battles by his consistent finishes early on in the season.
“We are not sure how the season is going to end up of course, but right now we are sitting pretty well with 3 traveling series. We look to hit as many shows as possible with all three series throughout the remainder of the year and see what comes out at the end. We are still going to be chasing that 4th title with the Midwest All Stars, but if we could finish top 10 with the USCS and Sprint Invaders that would be something special I think for this team and our supporters,” commented Hull.
Up next for the Heartland Trailer Manufacturing #12 crew will be exciting Sprint Invader action at one of Hull’s favorite venues; the Morgan County Fairgrounds in Jacksonville, Illinois. Hull has found much success at the fairgrounds while winning many times in 410 and 360 action, including wins with the Sprint Invaders and a Season Championship back when he was running 410’s on a weekly basis at the track.
“What can I say about Jacksonville? It is one of those tracks that just seems to suit my driving style the best. My crew is very familiar with the track and set-ups are usually right on target by Scott (Bonar) my Crew Chief. It’s a good place to go racing and I hope we can get back there a couple more times this year,” added Jerrod.
After Friday night’s action at Jacksonville, Illinois, the team will then head south to Lake Ozark Speedway in Missouri. LOS is another place where the team has found success over the years, with a handful of wins and a strong count of top 5’s the team look to continue that success.
The team is also excited to announce that one of their supporters, K&N Filters recently did an article about Jerrod on their website. You can find the article, most notably discussing Hull’s recent win with the Sprint Invaders, at http://www.knfilters.com/news/news.aspx?ID=2660.
