Craig Stidham of Fresno, Calif. will sit on his 58-point lead over Davey Pombo in the USAC West Coast 360 Sprint Series until July 17 when the series resumes at Giant Speedway in Hanford, Calif.
Stidham was fourth in last Saturday’s race at Santa Maria (Calif.) Speedway and has finished no worse than sixth in any of his 10 features starts so far this season.
Jace VanderWeerd of Visalia, Calif. earned his first USAC feature triumph Saturday night at Santa Maria, leading wire-to-wire in his VanderWeerd Construction/Mid Valley Pipe & Supply Maxim/Lawrence to take the 30-lap USAC West Coast 360 Sprint car main event. Davey Pombo finished second ahead of Richard VanderWeerd, Stidham and Jared Little.
