The AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint Cars return to the Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway October 23 for a final tune-up prior to the November 4-5-6 “Budweiser Oval Nationals” which pits the AMSOIL National and USAC/CRA stars in competition on the half-mile dirt oval in an event offering points toward both series championships.
Matt Mitchell of Yorba Linda, Calif. won Saturday night’s 30-lap AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint car feature at The PAS, highlighting the opening of the 2010 Southern California Fair. Mitchell passed Danny Sheridan on lap 19 and led the final 12 laps for the win in his J.W. Mitchell Motorsports Maxim/Chevy.
Rickie Gaunt, Greg Bragg, Cody Williams and Danny Ebberts rounded out the “top-five” at the checkered flag. Cory Kruseman led the first 15 laps and Sheridan led three before Mitchell went to the front.
