GREENVILLE, MS – October 21, 2010 – The United Sprint Car Series “Outlaw Thunder” Tour presented by Goodyear winged sprint cars www.uscsracing.com headline the two-day racing program for the Gumbo Nationals 2010 at Greenville Speedway on Friday and Saturday, November 5th and 6th. The two-night USCS “Gumbo Twins” sprint car event will feature a full program of sprint car racing each night. Friday’s USCS presented by Goodyear preliminary main event will pay $1250 to win. Saturday night’s Gumbo Nationals 30-lap Championship sprint cat finale pays $2500 to win. With bonuses for winning the “Gumbo Twins” and wins in the Goodyear Speed Dash each night, one driver could take home $4200 for their weekend’s efforts.
The Gumbo Nationals event will award National points plus points in the potent USCS Mid-South Thunder division. The USCS Mid-South Thunder Tour regional series consists of races in Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee. Friday night’s Outlaw sprint car action will feature a full program of winged sprint car racing that includes test and tune hot laps, the Goodyear Speed Dash, qualifying heat races (awarding passing points), B-Main/Last Chance race(s) and the Gumbo Nationals Pole Night preliminary main event.
On Saturday night the sprint cars contest another full racing program including the same elements as Friday night to determine the twenty-two car field for the 30-lap USCS Gumbo Nationals Sprint Car Championship main event. Eddie Gallagher from Piperton, Tennessee is the defending Gumbo Nationals Champion.
Additionally sharing top billing for the Gumbo Nationals is the powerful Super Late Model division. Also on the two-night racing card are the Gumbo Challenge for Nesmith rules Crate Late Models, the Street Stock and Mini Stock divisions. All four of those divisions will contest their qualifying events on Friday night with the finals on Saturday night.
On Saturday night those divisions will contest their B-Main/Last Chance races. The Super Late Models will be racing 40-laps for $5000 to win. The Crate Late Models will contest a 30-lap main-event with $2000 awarded to the winner. The Street Stock and Mini Stocks also complete their Gumbo Nationals Championship racing on Saturday night with a possible $850 on the line in the Street Stocks and $850 possible in the Mini Stock division. Also on Saturday’s racing program will be the popular Greenville Speedway weekly racing Stinger division.
.On Thursday night, November 4th an open practice session for all divisions is scheduled from 7p.m.until 10:00p.m.
