Sacramento, CA – February 7, 2011…Reigning Golden State 410 Series champion Kyle Larson of Elk Grove, CA will be on hand signing autographs at the King of the West Sprints booth this Friday night during the annual Sacramento Autorama.
The Golden State KWS booth will be located in Building C at the 61st Sacramento Autorama and Larson will be signing autographs from 6pm to 9pm on Friday night. The series show car will be located in the booth and fans are invited to sit in the car and take pictures if wanted.
The KWS booth will be part of a Northern California motorsports display that also includes Calistoga Speedway, which will feature the famed Walt Ross No. 56 Special on hand. In addition to that, USAC will also have a booth as part of the display and will have Tony Hunt’s Western States championship winning car in attendance.
The Sacramento Autorama runs this Friday through Sunday February 11-13, with the Golden State King of the West Sprints having schedules available, along with T-shirts and Hats for sale at the KWS booth. We encourage everyone to stop by and say hello during the weekend.
For 2011 the Golden State KWS Series will be competing in 26-events at 14 different tracks and features an overall cash point fund that currently stands at $125,000. An extensive contingency program will also be in place, with a complete sprint car with engine, as well as a complete race engine to be given away at the year-end banquet. To be eligible for the car and engine giveaways drivers must run 95% of the events with the series.
The standard, overall nightly A-main purse for KWS will also be $18,250 with a minimum $500-to-start each night. The Last Chance Showdown with KWS will have a total payout of $3,250 with $350 going to the first non-transfer and a guaranteed $200-to-start the last chance race.
This past season saw K. Larson become the youngest champion in the 25-year history of the Golden State 410 Sprint Car Series, racing to five main event wins with the tour. The 18-year-old also claimed three wins at Watsonville’s Ocean Speedway, as well as a $5000 triumph at Giant Chevrolet Kings Speedway’s Cotton Classic in October.
Larson this week is also set to kick off his 2011 sprint car season competing with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour. On Wednesday night the Elk Grove native will be at Groppetti Automotive Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, before returning home for the Autorama on Friday. Following that he’ll be in action at the Giant Chevrolet Kings Speedway in Hanford on Saturday.

The Golden State King of the West Series is a traveling Winged 410 Sprint Car Association that will be racing in California, Oregon and Nevada during the upcoming season. 2011 will be the 26th year of competition for the Golden State 410 Sprint Series and the season opener is slated for Saturday April 9 at the Antioch Speedway in Antioch, California.
