Late Arrival Doesn’t Bother Grant at Gas City.

From MudclodBob

Justin Grant didn’t make it to Gas City I-69 Speedway in time to hot lap or run a heat race. That really didn’t detract him from his purpose as he started last in the B main transferred from that and coming from 18th starting position in the feature passing Scotty Weir late to take the checkers in the 25 lap main event.

Weir and Logan Jarrett made up the front row of the feature and Weir looked to be on a mission as he motored off to a nice lead until a yellow came out for Chris Gurley on lap 7. Gurley was finished for the night.

Grant was already on the prowl moving up to 2nd by lap 15 when another yellow appeared for a car dragging the cone. Behind the top duo was Ted Hines, Logan Jarrett and Travis Welpott.

By lap 20 Weir and Grant were running side by side with Weir low and Grant on the high side. This lasted three laps until Weir got sideways and brought out the final caution. Grant went on to take win over Ted Hines, Welpott and Josh Spencer.

Heats for the 24 cars went to Chris Gurley, Adam Brykett and Scotty Weir.
