Port Royal – Port Royal Speedway will present Juniata County Fire & Rescue (EMS) Appreciation Night this Saturday, July 28 at 7:30 pm with racing action for the Aumiller’s Insurance 410 sprints, AB Auto Glass late models, 305 sprints and the Juniata Tire Sales/Casner’s Service Center enduro dash divisions.
The night’s activities are meant to honor and recognize local emergency responders for their commitment to public service in and around Juniata County, the home of Port Royal Speedway and the Juniata County Fairgrounds.
Some two-dozen pieces of Juniata County emergency response apparatus are slated to be on display with engines and trucks coming from departments in Port Royal, Mifflin, Fayette Township, Beale Township, Delaware Township, East Waterford, Thompsontown and Richfield.
Ambulance companies slated to appear include Central Juniata EMS, Port Royal EMS and Fayette EMS.
Kids fire truck rides will be given on the Juniata County Fairgrounds from 5:30 until 6:15 pm after gates open at 5.
And a parade will take place around the speedway itself during intermission.
Plus, the Seven Mountains Emergency Medical Services Council will have Andy the Ambulance roaming the grounds to interact with fans of all ages.
Andy the Ambulance is an interactive, remote controlled educational ambulance used as a tool for public outreach and education.
The council will also have static displays of mass casualty equipment on hand and emergency preparedness kits for distribution along with other giveaways.
CPR training will also be available for anyone interested.
The night promises to be a fun one for one and all with fantastic racing action on the agenda as well.
The show will be just the second of the season for the PA 305 Sprint Series due to previous rainouts.
When last the speedway was in action on July 14, Chad Layton won his second 410 sprint main of the year while Brett Schadel scored his second in late model action while John Heane did the same in pro stocks.
Adult general admission for the show is $15 with youth ages 12 – 18 admitted for the low price of just $5.
